With over 70 years of experience, British Empire Fuels is the trusted name in propane, HVAC, and fuel oil delivery in Kawartha Lakes and Trent Lakes. Established in 1940 by the Ewell family after they immigrated to Canada from England, our company was originally founded as British Empire Coal Supply Co., located in Toronto, Ontario. Renamed British Empire Fuels Inc. in 1960, Bert Ewell, son of the founders, purchased property on Hwy. 36 South in Bobcaygeon, Ontario. Mr. Ewell then moved the company to the Kawartha Lakes area in 1967, where he and his wife, Ruth, successfully ran the company for 14 years.
