Booma Oil has been keeping North Shore residents warm for more than 75 years. Some longtime customers still remember us as Booma-Breed. Thats because Roland Booma, our grandfather, founded our company with Dick Breed in 1933. After the partnership was dissolved, we became Booma Oil.  In 1933, many homes were still heated with coal. Heating oil was the latest thing, and it quickly took hold as the home heating fuel of choice. Roland Booma worked until just before his death in 1976, and he passed the company to his son-in-law, Ferdinand (Ted) Carangelo. Today, the company is run by his daughter Lisa Carangelo and his son Theodore (Theo) Carangelo.  Today Booma is one of the largest family-owned oil heating companies on Bostons North Shore, serving almost 3000 customers in Lynn, Swampscott, Saugus, Lynnfield, Marblehead and surrounding towns. Many of our customers have been with us for many years. Price Protection

Booma Oil offers program options that can protect you from price fluctuations. As youre well aware, oil prices tend to be cyclical. As a result of commodities speculation and geopolitical events, oil prices sometimes spike. Here are two of our current programs to help offset costs:  

Smart Pay with a price cap 

 This option combines the convenience of Smart Paywith the protection of a price cap. The cost of your fuel wont rise above a ceiling or “cap” price, regardless of what happens in the oil markets. And because the program also includes downside protection, if prices go lower, youll pay the lower price, guaranteed. In other words, our cap program doesnt fix your price; it puts a ceiling on it.  

Prebuy your fuel with a price cap

   When you buy all of the oil youll need for the coming heating season in advance, this is known as a “prebuy.” A prebuy option protects you against both rising and falling prices. If oil prices skyrocket, your price wont budge. And if our daily price drops below your prebuy price, you will be charged the lower rate and credited for the difference at the end of the season.  If you decide to prebuy your fuel with full payment up front, we will give you a 10-cent-per-gallon discount.  Because circumstances change, we re-evaluate our programs each year so we can bring you the most appropriate options.
