​Founded in 2008 and located near the Blue Ridge Mountains in Virginia, Blue Ridge Sun is a licensed and insured Class A contractor for alternative energy products, offering design and installation services for solar energy systems in Virginia and the Carolinas.
The founder of Blue Ridge Sun, Walter Benda, is certified as a PV Installation Professional by the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP), one of very few installers to hold this certification in the western region of Virginia.
Blue Ridge Sun uses an installation team that is experienced and licensed in the electrical, building, and plumbing trades. Its portfolio of alternative energy projects includes grid-tie, off-grid, and off-grid with battery back-up systems, for ground mounted as well as rooftop mounted systems.
