Microbial Growth & Bugs in my Fuel

Microbial growth and the sludge and slime it creates is one of the leading causes of engine shutdown, fuel filter plugging and fuel tank contamination in diesel and jet fuel. Todays ultra-low sulfur diesel fuels create an environment even more conducive to this bacteria and fungi growth, and can cause serious damage to engine systems or even leave you stranded. While water is the primary culprit to growth issues, it only takes a small amount and keeping it completely out is nearly impossible. Fuel inherently carries some water, condensation occurs and accumulates in tanks, and unfortunately, water is prevalent in the fuel distribution network. Additionally, biofuels and ULSD provide more nutritional content for bugs and fewer natural deterrents than older conventional varieties, so needless to say bugs are a growing problem!  But, whether you are operating a recreational vessel, an aircraft, or a million plus gallon storage facility, the proper and consistent use of a biocide is imperative to preventing microbial issues. Biobor JF provides a highly effective “shock dosage” (killing existing growth) to eradicate bacteria and fungi growth when issues arise or signs of contamination are evident. From there, with consistent use at the “maintenance dosage”, Biobor JF will prevent and maintain a sterile fuel system protecting the fuel system, extending fuel filter life and greatly improving the operation of your engine.

In addition, Hammonds also offers Biobor EB (Ethanol Buster) which combats the harmful effects of ethanol in gasoline and increases engine efficiency. Ethanol is extremely corrosive and can be detrimental to your engine if not properly blended with the gasoline in your tank. Over time ethanol will separate from the gasoline in your tank. Biobor EB prevents Fuel Phase Separation, cleans disperses sludge and stabilizes gasoline for storage.  Biobor MD (Marine Diesel) is a cutting-edge over-the-road fuel conditioner engineered to enhance fuel performance, increase fuel lubricity and lowering the cold pouring point(CFPP) by up to 25 degreesFahrenheit.
