The Benz family business started in 1980. Since then they have been the areas leading provider of quality fuel, propane and lubricants for agricultural, commercial and residential customers. Beginning as an agent salesman for Standard Oil Company in 1956, Bernard “Bernie” Benz utilized his extensive experience and knowledge of the oil and gas industry and purchased Standard Oil Company in Killdeer, ND. This was the beginning of a bright and prosperous future for the Benz family.   The Benz Oil Company Inc. began operations in 1980 with the purchase of Standard Oil Company in Killdeer and the Amoco Stations located in Arnegard and Watford City, ND. The stations in Arnegard and Watford City were operated as West River Petroleum Company until 1986 when they were sold. Then, in 1994, after spending most of his career in the oil and gas service industry, Bernie retired, leaving company ownership and operations to his two sons, Mark and Scott.   Since then the company has been managed by brothers, Mark and Scott and Dina, Marks wife. However, the Benzs are not alone. They are surrounded by an outstanding team of employees dedicated to fulfilling the customers needs.   Located in an area thriving with increased residential and commercial development and steadily increasing agriculture and manufacturing provides tremendous opportunity.
