PV Diesel Hybrid Systems

The PV Diesel Hybrid solution can be used with diesel generators and co-gen plants. Such a solution typically does not involve usage of storage batteries due to cost and maintenance involved. Customers find these to be highly desirable solutions as forward contracts for diesel are high and prices of PV solutions are at all time lows.

• Your primary source of power is Diesel and it is being used for 8 hrs or more a day.

Metering and Assessments 

The first step towards implementing energy saving measures is to make a small commitment. It is our experience that success rates improve when this commitment is made at the outset.The commitment involves our technician walking through the facility and assessing what technologies they think are applicable. We then apply heuristics to suggest the level of savings we could bring. If that level were acceptable, we would ask for a detailed metering and inventory based assessment of the facility. The cost of this phase is typically 15% of an average monthly electric bill.

The result of this phase includes

• A detailed power consumption and power quality report (raw and graphical data ) at all major MDBs representing major energy saving opportunities. Consumption at higher order harmonics to be included in the report.
• A design for VAR compensation / harmonic suppression systems along with projected savings and baseline metering for confirmation of those savings.
• A list of potential energy saving projects along with estimated paybacks for future initiatives. These will include but are not limited to treatments on the Cogen plant, HVAC plant, lighting circuits and other assorted transformers and motors at the plant.

Geothermal

  The earth is one big solar collector - maintaining a nearly constant temperature between 50F – 60F degrees all year long. Between 5 -10 feet down the earth isn’t as susceptible to daily or seasonal ambient temperature changes.As the fluid circulates underground it absorbs heat from the ground and, on its return, the now warmer fluid passes through the heat pump which extracts this heat from the fluid. The re-chilled fluid is sent back to the ground thus continuing the cycle.The heat extracted from the fluid plus that heat generated by the heat pump appliance, as a byproduct, is combined and used to heat the house.The addition of this extracted heat from the ground means more heat is generated than by electricity alone.

Switching the direction of heat flow, the geothermal system circulates the cooled water through the house for cooling in the summer months. The heat is exhausted to the same relatively cool soil rather than delivering it to the hot outside air as a typical air conditioner does. Air is blown across a smaller temperature difference which leads to higher efficiency and lower energy use.
