  The genesis of our present company began in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s with the Welsh immigrants who brought their skills, work ethic, and dreams to the rich bituminous coal fields of the Georges Creek Basin of western Maryland. Members of the William E. Jenkins family  rose up into mine management through hard work, education, and the application of advanced engineering skills,  ultimately enabling them to acquire ownership of the Consolidation Coal Company’s  Maryland holdings.  Allegany Coal and Land Company is a Maryland Corporation located in Frostburg, (Allegany County) Maryland. The company is engaged in commercial and residential real estate development, land and timber management, and energy production.
