STORAGE TANKS AND SOLAR COLLECTORS

: Most solar water heaters require a well-insulated storage tank. Solar storage tanks have an additional outlet and inlet connected to and from the collector. In two-tank systems, the solar water heater preheats water before it enters the conventional water heater. In one-tank systems, the back-up heater is combined with the solar storage in one tank.

Different types of geothermal systems:

Geothermal heat pumps can be categorized as having closed or open loops, and those loops can be installed in three ways:  horizontally, vertically, or in a pond/lake.  The type chosen depends on the available land areas and the soil and rock type at the installation site. These factors will help determine the most economical choice for installation of the ground loop.
