TotalEnergies Resumed Production from Denmark Gas Field

SEATTLE (Oil Monster): TotalEnergies SE said that it has restarted production at the Tyra gas field on North Side- Denmark’s biggest gas field. The field was shut in 2019 for redevelopment.

The company news release stated that the Tyra gas field is projected to reach a peak production of 5.7 million cubic meters and 22,000 barrels of condensate per day. This will once again make Denmark self-sufficient and make it a net exporter of natural gas. The field hosts state-of-the-art digital solutions and technological innovations, thereby ensuring efficient production at significantly lower greenhouse gas emissions, it noted.

The redevelopment of Tyra gas field ensures continued production, thus protecting gas supply to Danish and Swedish consumers, said Nicolas Terraz, President- Exploration and Production at TotalEnergies.

The Tyra gas facility has eight new platforms, two jackets and six bridges. It reused or recycled nearly 98.5% of materials from the old hub.

Located off the west coast of Denmark, the Tyra project has processed 90 percent of gas produced in the Nordic country for several decades now. TotalEnergies owns 43.2% operating stake in the project, while BlueNord ASA and Nordsofonden owns 36.8% and 20% stake respectively.
