SEATTLE (Oil Monster): Liquefied natural gas (LNG) developer Tellurian Inc said on Monday the U.S. energy regulator had authorized Line 200 and Line 300 of its $1.4 billion Driftwood natural gas transmission pipeline project.
The U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission approved the Louisiana-based pipelines on April 21. The company expects the project to be operational in 2023 to meet the growing demand for natural gas in Southwest Louisiana.
The pipelines will have a capacity to supply up to five and a half billion cubic feet of natural gas daily, the company said in a statement.
Meanwhile, Tellurian is yet to take a final investment decision on its Driftwood LNG export terminal, which has witnessed several setbacks with companies such as Shell Plc exiting the $13.6 billion project last year.
