TankerTrackers Report Surge in Iran’s Crude Oil Exports

SEATTLE (Oil Monster): Leading vessel tracking firm TankerTrackers.com reported that Iran’s crude oil exports recorded surge during the latter half of December last year. The exports had remained subdued during the initial half of the month. However, the firm did not disclose further details or exact export volumes.

The post by TankerTrackers.com follows recent reports which warned of a severe drop in the country’s crude oil exports to lowest level in multiple months, mainly due to significant jump in domestic oil demand and also on account of impacts caused by the rising military and geopolitical tensions in the region.

As per Kpler data, the Iranian oil exports to China had reached an average of 1.31 million barrels per day (bpd) in November. This is considerably down by 0.524 million bpd from October. Furthermore, this is the lowest reported export volumes in four months. The new U.S. sanctions have hit the country’s contracts with Chinese customers. Amidst dipping deliveries to China, the country reported jump in floating oil supplies near Singapore and Malaysia, it added.

In the meantime, the Iran Oil Ministry rejected the figures, saying that there has been no major change in oil export volumes to China.
