Sonatrach Signed Historic Natural Gas Supply Agreement with Czech Energy Distributor

SEATTLE (Oil Monster):  Sonatrach, a large oil and gas company located in Algeria, stated that it and CEZ Distribuce, a Czech energy distributor, have inked a historic deal for the delivery of natural gas to the Czech Republic. It is anticipated that the agreement will improve the two nations' energy relations. It will also assist Algeria in strengthening its position in the energy market of Europe.

Details on the delivery timing and the precise amount of gas to be delivered were not made public. According to projections, Sonatrach will provide enough gas annually to power about 100,000 houses.

The agreement will lessen the Czech Republic's reliance on Russian energy imports and assist it in achieving its energy diversification objectives. It has already gone into effect in mid-October.
