SEATTLE (Oil Monster): The Campos Basin Integrated Natural Flow System (SIE-BC) and the Cabiunas Gas Treatment Unit (UTGCAB) are exclusively accessible to PRIO, according to a historic agreement struck by the state-run energy giant Petrobras of Brazil. On January 1, 2025, the agreement went into effect.
As a result of the arrangement, PRIO will be able to transport and process natural gas from its Frade and Albacora Leste resources via Petrobras' gas pipeline network. The deal is consistent with Petrobras' pledge to abide by the nation's gas law. Additionally, it will significantly support the company's continued efforts to establish and grow a competitive natural gas market in Brazil.
By guaranteeing more competition through higher investments, the Gas Law aims to modernize and liberalize Brazil's natural gas sector. The nation's energy sector is now more active as a result of the law's adoption. In addition, it has resulted in notable increases in natural gas production and infrastructural construction in recent years.
PRIO will be able to effectively manage the flow and treatment of natural gas from its Campos Basin holdings thanks to the partnership with Petrobras.
