According to him, it has been instrumental in recovering stolen crude oil worth at least N200 million from two vessels, allegedly transporting crude oil from Niger Delta oil facility illegally.

The patrol ships deployed by the Navy led to the arrest of MV TOKONI, which was ladened with over 500 thousand litres of stolen crude oil worth about N281,708,450. It also arrested MT ALEXANDER J laden with 528.95MT of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) and MT MV Platform Care 2 ladened with over 100 thousand litres of Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), Wambai said.

The actions by the Navy has also resulted in recovery of stolen petroleum products being smuggled at the creek of Ojodu Berger. In addition, it has also arrested suspects conveying illegally bunked petroleum products and suspected pipeline vandals.
