SEATTLE (Oil Monster): Production has started at the Long Lake Northwest Project in Alberta, Canada, according to a statement released by CNOOC Limited. Next year, the business anticipates reaching its peak crude oil production of 8,200 barrels per day (bpd). In addition to four pipelines, the project's infrastructure include a new well pad.
In 2008, CNOOC Ltd. started producing in the oil sands of Long Lake. The average production of the company's Long Lake in 2023 was approximately 61,000 barrels of oil equivalent (boe). CNOOC Petroleum North America ULC, a fully owned subsidiary of CNOOC Ltd., is in charge of running the project.
In 2024, the corporation reported a number of upstream startups, mostly in the South China Sea.
CNOOC Ltd. and its partners announced in late October of this year that production had begun from the third phase of the Mero oilfield in the Santos Basin offshore Brazil. At home, it launched three projects in the Bohai region of the Yellow Sea and five in the South China Sea.
CNOOC's foreign output rose 12.2% to over 172.9 MMboe over the first nine months of the year, while its domestic production jumped 6.6% to 369.2 MMboe. Between January and September of 24th, the total production increased by 8.5% to 542.1 MMboe.
