SEATTLE (Oil Monster): Italian energy major AleAnna announced that it has secured a multi-year contract with Shell Energy Europe Ltd. towards supply of natural gas from its Longanesi Field located in the Emilia-Romagna region. The agreement, which marks a significant step forward in its commitment to providing secure and clean energy to its customers, will come into force in Q1 next year.
According to industry analysts, the partnership with Shell Energy Europe Ltd. will help the Italian firm to ensure a stable supply of natural gas to Italian consumers and businesses. The contract will provide access to Shell's extensive infrastructure and logistics capabilities, thus helping it to focus on responsible development of the country’s rich natural gas resources, they noted.
Commenting on the development, Marco Brun, CEO, AleAnna emphasized on the strategic importance of the agreement, saying that it highlights the strong collaboration between both the companies. Moreover, it reflects the company’s strategic focus on developing Italy’s natural gas resources and supporting the country’s previously stated sustainability goals.
It must be noted that AleAnna is reportedly facing financial troubles, with its short-term obligations exceeding liquid assets.
