Lone Star Electric was started on February 1, 1990 with two worn-out trucks, a set of hand tools, $2,000 in the bank, a Master’s license, and a prayer. Doug Jones and Matt Robinson, owners of the company, attended the same high school, but did not really know each other. After graduating, they got jobs working with the same electrical contractor and over time, became friends. Then Doug and Matt acted on their dream of starting their own electrical contractor business with the motivation of being a  lonestar-about-img success in the industry and providing security for their families. Some of the keys to their success have been honest pricing, having integrity at all times, and treating all people with respect. But the real success came to Doug and Matt in 1995, when they made Jesus Christ the CEO of Lone Star Electric. They try to honor Him in all things they do by ministering to those around them and by managing Lone Star Electric in a way to glorify Him. Doug and Matt have learned many lessons through the years, the main ones being that you cannot out-give God, and that He will always take care of you.  Lone Star Electric is actively involved with many aspects of the community of Abilene and the Big Country. We are members of the Better Business Bureau, Abilene Chamber of Commerce and the Home Builders Association. We also sponsor Little League baseball teams, we support the local Christian radio station, we support / advertise with all the local high school sports and we also support non-profit organizations and several Ministry programs.
