Wanklyn Oil Company, Inc. has been a family-owned and operated the business since 1926. Wanklyn Oil Company was started in 1926 by Albert and Arthur Wanklyn.  It was then called Wanklyn Brothers.  They started in the small town of Winifred, a small town northwest of Frankfort.  In 1962, Dennis Wanklyn took over operations from Albert.  After taking over, Dennis has grown the company to service more than 2,500 customers and more areas than before.  In 1999, Dennis’ oldest son, Jerrod Wanklyn, joined the family business after graduating from Kansas State University.  He handles the Manhattan, Flush, Junction City, Paxico, St. Marys, Maple Hill, Randolph, Olsburg, Wamego, Alma, Rossville, Emmett, Silver Lake and Chapman service areas.  He assists with sales and service in these areas.  In 2008, Dennis’ youngest son, Zach Wanklyn, joined the family business. His background previously was in HVAC and he decided to leave that field of work to come to work for Wanklyn Oil.  He primarily helps with sales and service.  He helps set tanks, trench lines and runs service calls.  Zach handles the Beattie, Marysville, Onaga, Frankfort, Vermillion, Blue Rapids, Wheaton and Blaine areas.
