AmTex Machine Products, Inc. was founded in 1989. It existed previously as a division of Tubular Products of Texas, Texas Pipe Threaders division.  In 1996 was bought by its present owner and remains at 4517 Brittmoore in Houston.

AmTex has come a long way since 1989 when it was generating less than $1.5 million a year in sales, In 2003 the company underwent an ambitious multiyear growing period, more than quadrupling its capacity and market presence. AmTex added a location in Alberta Canada to serve Canadian customers in 2005. AmTex also began seeking its foothold in the premium couplings market. Further growth in 2007-2008 established the company as a strong market leader in the OCTG coupling market both in API and premium coupling sales. In 2014, AmTex Machine Products, Inc. had revenue approaching $200 million.

Most of its sales ship for continental US usage, however a good contribution to the company’s volume is achieved through international sales as well. AmTex has an experienced management team, hands on ownership, and complete commitment to serve its customers.

AmTex became debt free in 2007 and remains that way today.  Being debt free allows the flexibility to weather the rapid turns in the OCTG business. It allows the company the strength to conduct business to the highest standards in the industry.
