The Anaerobic Digestion process produces large amounts of Biogas. Biogas consists of a mixture of Methane, CO2 and other impurities. By removing impurities and separating CO2 Biomethane can be produced. Biomethane has the same composition and energy content as Natural Gas. The Biomethane Quality Protocol provides the criteria for Biomethane to be used or injected to the gas grid or for use in a natural gas appliance. Granville Energy Supply’s Biomethane is compliant with this standard.

The company is part of a circular economy circle of Granville EcoPark in which we keep resources in use for as long as possible, extract the maximum value from them whilst in use, then recover and regenerate products and materials at the end of each service life. Some of GES's customers recieving Biomethane to power their plant are also sending their food waste to the AD process, making a clean loop of recovery and regeneration.
