Since Dec, 2019
Solar Site Design was founded in January 2013 by Jason and Samantha Loyet. With well over a decade of solar experience, Solar Site Design was built to gather information about solar projects to be instantly shared with all stakeholders in the project. Our team understands that soft costs of the solar industry are a road block in the development of new solar projects. Soft costs include installation, customer acquisition, permitting, etc., and can cost as much as 60% of a solar project. So, our team built Solar Site Design to help streamline the process of sharing information, all while empowering new solar originators to enter the industry and help reduce expensive soft costs. Our team has completed both a clean-tech accelerator and a social enterprise accelerator, hosted and produced by Village Capital/Venture Well and The Nashville Entrepreneur Center, respectively. We also participated and were chosen as a winner of the 2015 U.S. Department of Energy SunShot Initiative. We are committed to creating new jobs, restoring a cleaner environment and streamlining the solar development process. We track our metrics and are proud to work as a socially-conscious business.
The U.S. Department of Energy SunShot Initiative is a collaborative national effort that aggressively drives innovation to make solar energy fully cost-competitive with traditional energy sources before the end of the decade. Through SunShot, the Energy Department supports efforts by private companies, universities, and national laboratories to drive down the cost of solar electricity to $0.06 per kilowatt-hour.

Marketplace
At Solar Site Design, we set out to build a community that connects C&I solar originators to the best solar installers in the nation. The SSD team continues building that community through the evolution of its Marketplace. There are business owners all across the country who are interested in deploying sustainbility initiatives, many that include a desire for solar. Our originators, who have worked with these business owners on these initiatives, can make a warm introduction for installers interested in building the project. No cold calling or months of trying to get a foot in the door required! Installers have been challenged by how difficult it is to get into C&I solar projects. Were working to bridge the gap by connecting business owners & originators to the qualified installers who choose to be a member of our Marketplace. By being a member of our Marketplace, Installers receive access to the highest-qualified projects when the owners have indicated theyre ready to move forward. Members can log in to view their Dashboard at any time to see the flow of projects being updated - in real time - with notes about the status of various opportunities. Once the originator has received a non-binding agreement from the business owner that theyre ready to move forward, interested installers will gain access to all the files required to put together a formalized quote, including 12 months utility bills, notes from client meetings, photos, all preliminary drawings & Working Models, and any other important, relevant updates.
