About Company

JLN SOLAR INC. believes in American manufacturing and American workers.  JLN SOLAR INC. envisions the development of a 125 MW U.S. manufacturing plant. The plant will produce the Electric Butterfly™ solar array, including its custom designed gearbox and controller, as well as JLN SOLAR INC.s unique CIGS thin film solar modules.  In full scale operation such a facility would create close to five hundred jobs.

JLN SOLAR INC. plans to locate the initial 125 MW manufacturing plant in Liberty Hill, Texas on approximately 1000 acres of land with railroad access.  The proposed manufacturing plant will include:

  • CIGS solar module manufacturing factory

  • Solar array manufacturing factory

  • Gearbox manufacturing factory

  • Assembly building for the wiring harnesses and controllers

  • Administrative building

  • Electrical substation

  • Three warehouse buildings

  • Guard house

The Electric Butterfly™ Solar Array

The Electric Butterfly™ is a stand-alone two-axis tracking solar array system that includes 72 solar modules.  It features a custom designed gearbox and is built to withstand 140 mph hurricane force winds, tidal surges, class 5 earthquakes, and sandstorms in the stowed position.  It is built with American steel.  The unit is self- contained for security and is not dependent on the internet for operation. The units can be built on farmland or ranch land. Unlike single axis trackers, these units can be built on uneven terrain. Furthermore, The units can be built very near populated areas, unlike wind, coal, nuclear or natural gas energy. The units do not produce any noise pollution, greenhouse gas emissions, or catastrophic radiation danger.

CIGS Solar Modules

JLN SOLAR INCs PV module is based on an American invented and developed CIGS (CuInGaSe2) thin film PV technology. CIGS technology produces excellent energy yields and low levelized costs of electricity under most climatic conditions.

Transmission Manufacturing

Our custom designed transmission was built by Edwin Hahlback at Powertrain Engineers, Inc., world renowned for their innovative design.  JLN SOLAR, INC challenged the engineers to design a unique, dependable two axis solar transmission that is built to withstand large forces such as Class 5 earthquakes, 140 mph hurricane winds, and sandstorms.

Module Manufacturing

The PV Module is based on an American invented and developed CIGS (CuInGaSe2) thin film PV technology. CIGS PV Modules are the most advanced and the most efficient among the thin film technologies. Today, the efficiency of a laboratory solar cell is 23.3%, the champion module efficiency is slightly in excess of 18.5%, and the shipped commercial module is between 14% and 16% efficient. JLN SOLAR,INC. projects its module efficiency resulting from the first pilot 125 MW plant to be between 15% - 16%, with potential continuous improvements towards >18% efficiency. The module is 1240mm x 630mm with a rating of about 120-130 W.  Key features of current CIGS technology are: (1) a low temperature coefficient (2) a favorable spectral response, and (3) high relative efficiency under low light conditions. These features are the reason for excellent energy yields and hence low levelized costs of electricity under most climactic conditions.  Furthermore, the thin film module design based on monolithic interconnection results in lower cost of fabrication and intrinsically reduces sensitivity to shading. Glass-Glass monolithically integrated CIGS modules are inherently more stable over soldered or bonded solar cell strings.

Controller

JLN SOLAR INC. custom designed a controller box for the Electric Butterfly™ to be independent from the internet.  It can withstand EMPs, natural or weaponized.  The gear box and controls are at a high level from the ground, making them tamper resistant against persons or livestock.
