Sun Wind LLC300 Cranberry Highway, Orleans, Massachusetts, United States
Since Aug, 2019
SunWind, LLC, has been installing renewable energy since 2009, and we have worked with hundreds of Cape home- and business-owners to improve their energy efficiency by using renewable energy sources such as solar PV, solar thermal and wind turbines, and in turn, saving them a lot of money on utility bills. We stand by our commitment to quality workmanship and customer satisfaction, and our belief in a future powered sustainably by renewable energy.
From Start to Finish
We are with you from start to finish of the project; from initial consultation to the actual install, everything is done in-house by our versatile team.
Experience and Expertise
Our team has decades of experience in construction on the Cape, enabling us to offer innovative solutions to the most difficult design challenges. We have installed everything from small roof-mounted PV systems that prioritize the aesthetics of the Cape Cod home, to vast ground-mounts and carports that offset the energy use of a large business.
Embedded in the Cape Cod Community
All of us at SunWind are your neighbors here on Cape Cod. Hundreds of customers on Cape and Eastern Massachusetts continue to trust us with their energy needs; here’s what some of them had to say about us: SunWind provided us with a head-to-toe project, offering different options and scenarios based on our suggestions. The guys from SunWind are approachable, knowledgeable, and responsive, and they took care of all the paperwork. After a timely and professional installation of the system, all works well. The system never fails; it fulfills our electricity and hot water needs. We gladly recommend SunWind.
Residential
SunWind, LLC, has worked with hundreds of Cape residents to offset their utility costs by improving their home’s energy efficiency, and there are many reasons why investing in a solar PV system makes sense for a growing number of homeowners on Cape Cod. Because of the robust incentive programs in Massachusetts, we find that the majority of residential systems pay for themselves within 4-to-5 years
The Incentives
The benefits of going solar are not just limited to contributing to the environment by generating clean energy, there are also many financial incentives in place that make going solar a lucrative investment.
RENEWABLE ENERGY CREDITS (SRECS)
Massachusetts also requires that utility companies in the commonwealth invest a certain amount in renewable energy, allowing you to monetize your solar production in the form of credits that are paid out for each megawatt-hour (mWh) of energy produced over the first 40 quarters of operation. The additional revenue from SRECs (solar renewable energy credits) is substantial enough to provide a fast return on investment, but the program is slated to be replaced by the DOER’s SMART program, so the time to act is now to get in on this lucrative incentive. SunWind facilitates the process of cashing in on SRECs by partnering with Knollwood Energy, and our customers generated a total of 448 SRECs in 2016 alone.
We consult with each of our customers to discuss the best energy solution and financing scenario based on their budget, usage needs, and design preferences.
- Following a site visit in which we measure and assess the condition of the roof (for roof-mounted systems), analyze the composition and slope of the terrain (for ground-mounts), and complete a shading analysis, we will send you a detailed proposal.
- Upon approval from the customer, we begin the permitting process and applying for approval from all authority-having jurisdictions (such as homeowners’ associations, historical societies, etc.) as needed.
- Once the project is permitted, we schedule an install date with the customer and an expected completion date.
- After completion of the install, we schedule an inspection and get you interconnected to the utility grid and handle all the paperwork to make sure you get the most of all available incentives.
Wind
Since SunWind’s beginnings in 2009, we have endeavored to accommodate the specific energy needs of each of our clients on an individual basis. Although we believe there is value in all forms of renewable energy, we have found that for the overwhelming majority of our customers, solar PV provides the greatest offset of energy needs with the most consistent production and at the most affordable price for the average Cape Cod homeowner. That said, we do have experience installing and maintaining wind turbine systems (hence the “Wind” in SunWind) and are more than happy to accommodate you if a wind system makes the most sense in your situation, or if you have an existing system that needs repair or maintenance.
