We service, repair and market products and use state of the art diesel diagnostic equipment!  home-1  In 1973, Bob Jones of Jones Grinding and Parts Junction encouraged employee Arnie Rief to start a fuel injection business at the West Point parts store he owned. Later, in 1976, Jones’ entire business was moved to Beemer.  When the manufacturing part of the business was moved outside of Beemer, Arnie was given the option of being the sole owner of Midwest Diesel.  Here it is 35 years after the business began and Midwest Diesel is still going strong. Additional buildings were added onto the original Beemer location at 210 Front Street, just off Highway 275 in Beemer. In the mid 1980s, a second shop was opened in Norfolk.  Including Arnie, there are nine technicians in Beemer, a parts manager and bookkeeper. Arnie’s son Andrew has worked with his dad since he was young with the exception of his college years when he attended Milford.  Through the years, bays were added to the building, which allowed for engine overhauls, brake replacements and a variety of general maintenance in addition to the fuel injection business.  Arnie has handled most of the service calls in the past, more recently part of that load is being passed to other technicians.  home-2  In the north part of the shop, motors for irrigation are sold and repaired. Midwest Diesel also sells and installs pumps for lagoons.  “We stay busy year-round,” Arnie said. “Gone are the days we used to have some catch-up time!”  Between the cattle feeding and agriculture industry in this area, trucks and all types of diesel machinery are moving constantly, which keeps Midwest Diesel busy.  “We are affiliated with many companies and have a full range of diagnostic equipment,” Arnie said.
