The original company, H.O. Roy Inc., was founded by Howard O. Roy – who established a tradition of providing quality products and exceptional customer service. In the early 1950s, John E. (Jack) McElligott married Howard’s daughter, Mildred (Mimi) and joined the company as general manager. In 1973, Mimi McElligott became president of the company, which then became known as Macro Oil Company, Inc. (the name being a combination of McElligott and Roy). Jack headed Macro until his death in 1984. Mimi and her sons Richard and Bill McElligott assumed control and fueled an era of growth and diversification that continues to this day. In 2014, the business was rebranded as Macro Companies to better represent our range of ever-expanding services. In 2016, Richard McElligott became President of Macro Companies.

Macro owns and operates a large fleet of dedicated aviation transport and bobtail fuel trucks that we use to deliver fuel to our customers bulk tanks. With trucks strategically stationed throughout the Gulf region, we can haul full transport loads as well as less than transport loads (LTL) as needed. Our bobtail trucks are also capable of refueling small portable tanks and tote tanks in the field.We can transport customer-owned fuel as needed – and also have the capabilities to respond to emergency fueling situations (including the delivery of aviation fuel, gasoline, and diesel) throughout the continental United States through our Emergency Fuel Management division.

The Emergency Fuel Management division of Macro has the capabilities and resources to respond to man-made or natural disasters anywhere in the United States or abroad – providing the fuel vital for relief efforts. The range of disasters we respond to include hurricanes, tornadoes, ice storms, wildfires, earthquakes, floods, oil spills, and power outages. In addition, our location near the Gulf Coast has given us many years of experience in both pre-storm preparation and post-storm relief when it comes to hurricanes.

We have also developed a company safety manual to which all employees must adhere, and we have an in-house HSE Manager who is a professional instructor trained and PEC certified to teach Core Compliance, SafeGulf, SafeLand, and HazWoper. Additionally, all of our truck drivers are required to attend monthly safety meetings. As an added feature of our safety program, Macro Companies adheres to all of the safety requirements set by the companies we serve.
