About Company

EnSave is a diversified energy and environmental services company specializing in turn-key program development and implementation. Since 1991, EnSave has designed and implemented energy efficiency programs for a variety of clients including state and federal agencies, investor-owned utilities, and rural electric cooperatives. We help our clients succeed in achieving their energy efficiency and greenhouse gas reduction goals while reducing energy costs and the environmental impact of their customers and constituents.

Agricultural Division

Farmers bear a great responsibility to feed a growing population, and we view the sustainability of agriculture as one of the most important challenges of our times. In an era where reliance on fossil fuels threatens our national security and environmental health, we deliver solutions that foster long-term energy independence for our farmers.

We approach farm energy management from a cost-benefit perspective, targeting opportunities with the lowest cost and highest benefit first. This approach starts with energy analysis as a foundation, usually in the form of an energy efficiency audit. Each EnSave farm energy audit provides a customized roadmap for implementing energy efficiency improvements by prioritizing each opportunity in terms of simple payback period.  Once this analysis is complete, we provide support to farmers to implement energy conservation, energy efficiency, time-of-use management, and renewable energy systems.  This approach is illustrated in EnSave's Energy Pyramid.

Our approach to designing and implementing energy efficiency programs emphasizes the engagement of the local agricultural community to maximize farm participation and local economic development.  We engage manufacturers of energy efficient equipment, farm equipment dealers and contractors, and the extended agricultural community to help reach the farm and build the case for energy efficiency. The extended agricultural community is comprised of organizations such as Farm Bureau, University Extension, state agriculture departments, farmer cooperatives, agricultural commodity organizations, and other organizations that represent or advocate for farmers.

We have a long history of partnering with these organizations in order to promote energy efficiency and renewable energy programs to their constituencies. If we’ve done our job correctly, by the time a farmer hears of a program from EnSave, they have already heard about it from those they know and trust. Our programs have a long legacy of helping our partner organizations retain customers, strengthen relationships with the agricultural community, and introduce a new service to their farmers.
