Since Jan, 2017
MTNT, Ltd. is a 100% Alaska Native owned corporation established in 1976 as a consolidation of the four Alaska village corporations of McGrath, Takotna, Nikolai, and Telida. MTNT exists for the benefit of its Shareholders, the people of the Upper Kuskokwim Basin of Alaska, who are primarily descendents of the Athabascan people. The headquarters of MTNT, Ltd. is located in McGrath, just west of Denali, which is the highest mountain peak in North America.
Through its subsidiaries, MTNT, Ltd. seeks to improve its Alaska Native Shareholder standard of living by providing employment, dividend income, land for homesteading, scholarships for college and other vocational education, and other benefits for its Shareholders, many of whom live in rural communities.
Not only is MTNT an Alaska Native Village Corporation, it is also the parent company of a group of energy, construction, IT and communications, and property management companies with operations throughout the United States, as well as globally. Collectively, these subsidiaries offer a broad range of services, plus the on-call expertise of a nationwide network of specialty subcontractors with whom we have established working relationships. At MTNT, we are resolved to execute upon our corporate values by providing our customers with exceptional value and service. By doing so, we can be assured that the people in the Upper Kuskokwim villages of MTNT will thrive in perpetuity.
MTNT Mission Statement
Increase corporate profitability, provide Shareholders with economic benefits and opportunities, and protect our corporate assets and land base while recognizing the traditional cultural values and subsistence lifestyles of our Shareholders.
Moving Forward to Preserve a Way of Life
MTNT, Ltd., was formed in 1976 and represents four Alaskan villages; McGrath, Takotna, Nikolai, and Telida, three of which are on the Iditarod Trail. Our people, primarily of Athabascan descent, are located in the Kuskokwim River Basin. Our villages own and manage 299,520 acres of land, commercial and residential properties, and a utility plant, along with several subsidiaries serving our nation’s government.
In addition to being proud Alaska Native people interested in preserving our culture, we are defense contractors. We provide personnel and services to commercial entities and federal agencies requiring our expertise. Our capabilities include development, construction, construction management, design, quality control, budgeting, scheduling, subcontractor selection, environmental, IT, strategic communication, professional staffing, and federal contracting expertise.
We embrace a dual vision on behalf of Shareholders: developing a prosperous business while retaining ties to our culture and our past.
The headquarters of MTNT, Ltd., is located in McGrath, Alaska, just west of Denali, the highest mountain peak in North America. In the Athabascan language, Denali translates into “The Great One.” It is in our remote villages, with little available infrastructure, that we practice the Native traditions of subsistence living, strengthening our family ties, and passing our knowledge from one generation to the next.
