CPWS PowerNet
CPWS PowerNet provides cable television, high-speed internet service, and commercial data services and wide area networks to homes and businesses in the City of Columbia.
Reliability and Superior Customer Service are our primary goals. CPWS PowerNet strives to maintain an extremely reliable cable and internet system serving the local needs of our community. CPWS PowerNet has the capability to serve over 16,500 homes and businesses in the City of Columbia.
A hybrid fiber coax (HFC) system serves as the backbone for our broadband system. Redundancy is built throughout this HFC system, which includes approximately 300 miles of fiber optic cable and coaxial cable connections.
In order to provide the highest level of service to our customers, CPWS PowerNet has implemented a preventive maintenance plan, which includes biannual power supply maintenance and a yearly sweep of all plant electronics. CPWS PowerNet constantly monitors its system for signal leakage. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has set maximum individual signal leakage levels for cable systems. The FCC also requires cable operators to have a quarterly program to inspect, locate, and repair leaks on their systems.
Because of the importance of high-speed data to many businesses and home offices, CPWS PowerNet operates a 24 hour/7 day local answering service. We respond to after-hours service calls to keep customers' service on continuously. Our after-hours answering service can be reached at 388-4833.
Channel 13 Local Programming
CPWS PowerNet's Production Department films local events and shows them on Channel 13. These events include Mule Day, Maury County Fair & Fair Events, Cruisin' the Square, Chili Cookoff, and more. In addition, we air church services for local churches and other local special events.
