About Company

Bio-En Power is a Canadian company. We build and operate facilities that can convert almost any type of organic waste into 100% renewable, green energy.  We accomplish this by using a completely-natural biological process called anaerobic digestion.

Our facilities can produce electricity, natural gas, industrial process heat or steam–whatever you need.  The revenue from producing the energy can be enough to carry the costs of operating your facility, once it’s built.

Our Success Is Founded On Three Core Principles:

  • Incredible reliability: we build the best and most reliable anaerobic digestion facilities in North America
  • Never worry about odours again: we consistently design and operate our facilities so that odour is never an issue; and
  • Energy first: we always design for maximum green energy production, because the revenues from energy sales make all the difference

What We Do

We build and operate facilities that convert organic wastes into energy.

We’re able to play any role in helping our customers arrive at smarter organics management:

  • Feasibility and engineering design
  • All types of required governmental approvals
  • Facility construction and commissioning
  • Facility Ownership
  • Facility Operation
  • Marketing of energy and digestate

It Makes All The Difference

We build Second-Generation anaerobic digesters. They produce up to 35% more energy for every kilogram of waste received, and that’s a huge advantage. They’re also inherently much more stable and easier to manage.

What’s a Second-Generation Digester? It’s simple: our digestion process is separated into two phases, each of which must be completed in separate vessels in the plant.

Raw wastes are broken down into very simple compounds in the first phase. This initial step is required to make waste by-products available for methane production in the second phase.

Here’s the key—each of the two steps requires a significantly-different temperature and pH environment inside the vessel, to produce optimal results.

First-generation digesters, (designed to process very consistent and simple materials like bio-energy crops) force both phases into a single vessel, leading to greater instability and lower rates of energy production when dealing with complex waste streams.

Second-Generation digesters are the best choice for mixed commercial organic wastes, and for municipal ‘green bin’ collection programs, simply because these waste streams are so variable.
