Since Jun, 2015
To meet the needs of the emerging air quality market, California Analytical Instruments was founded by Pete Furton in 1981. From the very beginning, CAI’s mission has been to develop innovative gas analyzer products and systems that will meet the needs of our customers for years to come. Our objective is to deliver the highest level of customer service and satisfaction in the continuous emissions monitoring industry. Our analyzers utilize proven technologies such as Chemiluminescence, Non-Dispersive Infrared (NDIR), Flame Ionization Detection (FID), Paramagnetic, Photoacoustic Infrared Spectroscopy (PAS) and Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) for consistent, accurate measurement of virtually any gas. Typical applications of CAI analytical systems include: Utilities / Power Generation Pharmaceutical Petrochemical Universities Gas Manufacturers CEMS Integrators / OEMS Stack Testers Instrument Rental Companies Cement Plants Steel Plants Government Agencies Landfill Gas / Greenhouse Gas Semiconductor Vehicle / Engine Manufacturers Fuel and Catalytic Converter Research With 30,000 analyzers installed in facilities in more than 100 countries, CAI is uniquely equipped to deliver optimal solutions for a variety of analytical needs, including yours.
Applications
California Analytical Instruments, Inc. now has 30,000 analyzers in the field, monitoring emissions for Industrial, Environmental, Process and Automotive applications. Our product offering consists of both single-gas analyzers and those that measure multiple gases.
With thousands of customers using CAI analyzers for a variety of applications, the chances are good we are an ideal fit for yours.
Typical CAI Applications:
- Continuous emissions monitoring (CEMS)
- Vehicle emissions
- Process control
- Engine testing / certification
- Agricultural emissions
- Landfill gases
- Greenhouse gas
- Utilities / power generation
- Pharmaceutical
- Petrochemical
- Universities
- Boiler monitoring

- SCR monitoring / control
The chemiluminescence method is used to measure the reaction between ozone and nitric oxide. In the NOx mode, the sample is routed through a converter. The resultant reaction is directly proportional to the total concentration of NOx. The reliability and rapid response time of CAI CLD analyzers make them particularly well-suited for the following applications:
- Continuous emissions monitoring (CEM)
- Vehicle emissions
- Scrubber efficiency
- Combustion efficiency
- Ammonia slip
- Process control
- Power plant de-nitrification
- Fuel cell analysis
CLD Analyzer Highlights
- Measure NO/NOx from 0 to 3,000 ppm full scale
- Rapid response time
- No vacuum pump required
- Lowest CO2 quench available
- Low-temperature vitreous carbon NOx converter – no ammonia interference
- Auto calibration and ranging
- Electronic proportional pressure control for sample and ozone flow
- Output options: voltage, 4-20 mA, RS-232 using AK Protocol and TCP/IP, Modbus
- CE Mark and ETL-listed – conforms to UL Standard 61010-1; certified to CAN/CSA C 22.2 STD 61010-1
