Electrocoagulation Solutions

Electrocoagulation Solutions

Electrocoagulation is based upon a process generally referred at as “adsorption and co-precipitation”.   Electrocoagulation technology offers an alternative to the use of metal salts or polymers and poly-electrolyte additives for breaking stable emulsions and suspensions in wastewater recovery and wastewater treatment streams.   The technology removes metals, colloidal solids and particles, and soluble inorganic pollutants from wastewater recovery and wastewater treatment streams by introducing highly charged polymeric metal hydroxide materials.   These materials neutralize the electrostatic charges on suspended solids and oil droplets to facilitate coagulation resulting in separation from the wastewater recovery and wastewater treatment streams.

Ecolotron’s patented E-FLOC™ Electrocoagulation Reactor consists of a number of heavy solid metal plates serving as electrodes.   Heavy metals cannot be directly induced into a biological reactor because it kills the reactor’s microorganisms.   As the highly pressurized wastewater flows between these electrodes a chemical oxidation-reduction reaction occurs causing the hazardous metals to chemically attach itself to the plates non-hazardous metal.   The result is both metals in their combined state can be removed from the resulting solution.   The removal of these metals allows the remaining wastewater to be processed through a biological reactor for a further reduction in pollutants thereby permitting discharge into the environment.

Ecolotron developed the E-FLOC™ Electrocoagulation Reactor through extensive engineering design and process refinement.   The E-FLOC™ Electrocoagulation Reactor applies best engineering practices to a formally outdated process.  These advances take the electrocoagulation process to a “state-of-the-art” technology capable of producing consistent and dependable results in wastewater recovery and wastewater treatment applications.  Electrocoagulation is becoming the wastewater recovery and wastewater treatment method of choice due to the many benefits and advantages of our technology.

Ecolotron, Inc.’s patented high pressure E-FLOC™ process offers the following benefits while overcoming the shortcomings of previous electrocoagulation applications:

Reduced Treatment Cost
– utilizes low cost electrolysis to accomplish treatment, eliminating the need to dispose of hazardous by-products of chemical treatment.
Dependable Results
– predictable concentrations of metal in the effluent which are lower than those attainable with chemical precipitation treatment.
Easily Maintained
– designed to be user friendly minimizing both operator attention and costly maintenance downtime.
Eliminates Chemical Reagents
– in most cases, or simply requires pH adjustment and poly-electrolytes to enhance liquid-solids separation.
Lower Capital Costs
– system designed to easily retrofit existing treatment infrastructure while improving performance, reliability and lowering operating costs.
Multiple Contaminates
– electrocoagulation process is capable of treating multiple contaminates of differing pH simultaneously, eliminating the need to segregate wastewater streams.
Reduced Footprint
– reduced tank capacity requirements and other ancillary equipment for associated mixing and metering of chemical reagents.
Sludge Minimization and Stabilization
– electrocoagulation generates a stable, easily dewatered sludge that routinely passes the USEPA TCLP for RCRA metals.

INDUSTRY WASTEWATER SOLUTIONS

Federal, State and local regulations are becoming more stringent regarding the use and disposal of wastewater.   The clear trend is to avoid the discharge of contaminants into the environment while remediating those sites that are currently contaminated.   These increasingly restrictive laws and regulations and the public’s awareness and perception of the hazards of the improper discharge are the driving force behind the need for new and less costly methods of water treatment, water disposal and water recycling.

Ecolotron is the world leader in the treatment of industrial wastewater with our electrocoagulation reactor and process.   The efficient and effective disposal of wastewater is an ongoing problem worldwide, endangering, and in some cases destroying one of our most essential and important natural resources – fresh water.   Ecolotron’s solutions can eliminate this threat by utilizing its patented electrocoagulation technology to remove not only dissolved metals and suspended particulates from industrial wastewater, but also organic wastes.

Ecolotron provides industry wastewater solutions which are improved and more cost effective than existing chemical treatments for compliance with laws and regulations.   Ecolotron’s strength in wastewater recovery and wastewater treatment solutions represents our commitment for maintaining a healthy environment.   Ecolotron can provide immediate wastewater solutions for companies in the Electroplating, Oil Production, Exploration and Refining, Aircraft Manufacturing and Maintenance, Municipal and Agriculture industries which must contend with these growing federal, state and local concerns surrounding the discharge of water and wastewater.

Ecolotron’s wastewater recovery and wastewater treatment solutions offer the following benefits:

  • Reduced Treatment Cost – eliminates the need to dispose of hazardous by-products of chemical treatment.
  • Dependable Results – predictable concentrations of metal in the effluent and elimination of organics which are not attainable with chemical precipitation treatment.
  • Lower Capital Costs – system designed to easily retrofit existing treatment infrastructure while improving performance, reliability and lowering operating costs.
