Freewatt Ltd Far Danes, Stow Park Road, , Stow, , Lincoln, , United Kingdom
Since Apr, 2015
Freewatt Ltd was established in April 2008, by managing director Julian Patrick as the first carbon neutral company to be founded in Lincolnshire. He believed passionately about creating a greener future and this ethos is still an important aspect of our company values.
We are now the longest established renewable energy provider in our region and very proud that our growing business and our reputation for exceptional customer service has been recognised in both the prestigious Gainsborough and Lincolnshire business awards. In 2010 we won Best New Business, Best Small Business in 2011 and in 2012 we were proud winners of both the Best Large Business and Renewable & Environmental categories.
With our market-leading technology, engineering expertise and commitment to life-long customer service, Freewatt can help you enjoy a bigger and better return on your investment, and play your part in creating a greener future.
Our team are all technically trained specialists and our record of success is based on referrals from satisfied customers who have been delighted with exceptional customer service and our high quality products which are designed to last over 25 years.
By providing innovative, quality solutions we have made renewable energy technologies not only environmentally friendly, but also attractive as a long-term low-risk investment.
You will find that we are a friendly, approachable and reliable team who want to help you make the best from your investment.
When considering investing many thousands of pounds on solar PV or other renewable energy projects we understand that you need to trust in the credentials of your installation partner and have faith that you will get a reliable return on investment.
We are an award winning company who were the first company in Lincolnshire to gain MCS accreditation for both solar PV and wind turbines and we continually strive to build on our growing reputation for high quality customer service, fine craftsmanship and exceptional products. In fact, some of the largest and most high profile solar PV projects in the region are Freewatt installations.
Our project experience ranges from installing solar PV panels for homeowners as well as working with building developers to incorporate solar panels into new builds, to helping companies develop revenue from installations on warehouses, offices or agricultural buildings, solar PV farms, schools and historic buildings.
We are so passionate about renewable energy that we have built our own £8.5m solar PV farm, an approximately 10acre, solar panel array where we also allow our award winning flock of sheep to graze and keep the grass underneath nicely trimmed – doubling our contribution to the environment.
A quality solar PV installation
Of course gaining MCS accreditation means only that we have achieved the minimum standard for our industry. We prefer that our reputation is also based on a track record of satisfied customers. We are very pleased that over 90% of our new projects come from referrals from satisfied customers that are willing to provide us with glowing testimonials.
Our clients choose Freewatt because of our extensive experience. They appreciate that the best possible returns on investment can only be achieved from a premium quality system that utilises top-quality components, designed and integrated by an experienced solar PV professional. We have built this confidence by focusing on the delivery of a robust solution that will last, and be trouble free for at least 25 years. All our installations come with a 25 year manufacturer’s guarantee of efficiency.
FREEWATT has an enviable reputation for delivering green solutions to homeowners, businesses and farmers.
The family company was started in 2008 and has grown steadily into a thriving business employing 30 highly-skilled members of staff dedicated to helping people get the best investment returns from green energy.
Since its inception the company has been responsible for installing nearly 5.5MW of solar energy at more than 600 different locations around the county – enough to power 1,650 homes – and saved a staggering 2.5 million tonnes of CO2 in the process.
During that time the company has been at the forefront of a staggering number of ground-breaking projects.
It was the first solar energy company to build a solar farm in Lincolnshire, the first to install solar panels on a church, the first to provide education packs for schools and the first to install a solar tracker in the county.
Freewatt has fitted solar panels to Co-op stores, fire stations, homes, the Epic Centre at Lincolnshire Show Ground, schools and businesses. It is one of only a handful of companies with English Heritage approved status for fitting PV on listed buildings.
It is also growing the area’s reputation for excellence in engineering by carrying out landmark work across the UK. Its ventures include Winchester College private school, a 10th century church in Buckinghamshire and the University of Leeds.
The company has grown from a standing start in 2008 with a turnover of just £44,000 to a 30 strong workforce and a turnover of more than £6m inside five years.
But the company is not resting on its laurels. It now offers cutting edge technology to its customers from heat source pumps to biomass boilers and from power management systems to innovative PV systems.
To cope with the increasing demand for clean energy and the growth in business Freewatt has re-engineered into three new divisions:
- Freewatt Renewable Heat – set up to develop biomass boiler projects and now spearheading the switch by many businesses from fossil fuel to green and cheap energy
- Green Makeover – established to develop new business installing environmental technologies in period homes. The company's flagship pilot project of turning a Georgian county home into the UK's "greenest old house" has already receiving widespread interest from local authorities, green groups and heritage organisations.
- Freewatt – will continue to focus on solar energy projects for domestic and business properties and developing large scale solar farms.
The three new companies sit under the parent company Freewatt Group and are overseen MD Amanda Legate – a former Partner in one of the largest Accountancy firms in the region.
Freewatt's current owner and CEO Julian Patrick continues to play a key role in the firm focussing on business development.
The company has invested heavily in training and up-skilling its work force to ensure they keep up-to-date with the latest technology and supports the University of Lincoln with student mentoring.
Freewatt also ensures it practices what it preaches.
The company HQ has a myriad of the latest green technologies including solar PV panels on the roofs, a biomass boiler heating the offices and the house next door and its own 1.1MW solar farm being grazed by rare-breed sheep.
It has coupled green technologies with a commitment to energy reduction and uses three hybrid cars and a plug-in electric car powered by and housed in a specially constructed solar car canopy.
No surprise, then, that Freewatt has been making its mark on the business community with a growing collection of awards to its name.
But most importantly its expertise, innovation and dedication to quality means it’s been winning over hundreds of customers too.
