Solarion produces the lightest, thinnest and most flexible solar cells in the world. Our product range also includes semi-transparent cells.
The average efficiency of our CIGS cells is more than 10 percent. Therefore the specific power of solar cells is 1,500 watts per kilogram.
Our current efficiency record of over 14 percent in the production of CIGS solar cells on plastic substrates using a roll-to-roll process shows that there is still a great potential for future increases.

Solarion manufactures flexible thin-film solar cells in a low-cost roll-to-roll process. To deposit the absorber layer a patented ion beam-assisted process (IBAD) is used. The energy and material usage is considerably reduced by this technology. At the same time the productivity increases significantly and allows a higher efficiency of solar cells. This low-temperature deposition is particularly suited for coating plastic films. The process can be controlled very precisely. This ensures a consistently high quality of solar cells.
