AquaflowAquaflow Ltd. P.O. Box 116, , Kirkkokatu , Finland
Since Feb, 2015
Aquaflow supplies water, effluent and sludge treatment solutions and technologies for its industrial and municipal customers. Our scope includes also preventive and corrective maintenance services as well as operation services for long-term and efficient use of the plant.
The roots of Aquaflow lie in Savonlinna, Eastern Finland. Enso-Gutzeit Savonlinna Works was originally established in 1917 specializing in manufacturing of steam boats, boilers and other machinery. Equipment for Pulp and Paper became part of production before the Second World War. Manufacturing of waste water and sludge treatment equipment became part of the programme in 1960s.
Equipment manufactured in Savonlinna - especially clarifiers and belt dewatering presses - soon became a standard in the Finnish Pulp and Paper Industry. Activities expanded to deliveries in Sweden, Norway and the Soviet Union in 1970s. The Finnish Pulp and Paper industry, now known world-wide, made a huge effort in building secondary treatment to practically all Finnish mills in 1980s and 1990s. We took part in this boom and delivered the first activated sludge plant in 1987.
In late 80s the Savonlinna Works was transferred to Ahlstrom Corporation as part of a mutual trade-off between these two companies. Ahlström Aquaflow Oy was established on April 1, 1989 as its own legal entity, continuing its current activities now complementing Ahlstrom Pulp and Paper total delivery concept. Activities expanded to the Americas and Asia.
Ahlstrom Corporation sold, as part of its revised business strategy, all equipment and machinery out while concentrating on manufacturing of fibrous materials. As part of this transaction Aquaflow business was sold to USFilter in 1997 which in turn was acquired by Vivendi in 1999. Aquaflow thus had become part of the family know today as Veolia.
All during its existence Aquaflow has been recognised for the unique know-how and technology portfolio in the Pulp and Paper. In addition to that Aquaflow started expanding its activities in Finland by starting sales of industrial Process Water and ELGA LabWater equipment and services. The portfolio was further expanded by merging I. Krüger Oy into Aquaflow in 2009 and Veolia Vesi Oy in 2011. At the present, Aquaflow can provide a wide offering of technologies of Veolia Water Technologies and services for its Finnish and Baltic clients, while maintaining its global technology leadership in the Pulp and Paper.
During its existence Aquaflow Oy has delivered hundreds of well-working Pulp and Paper effluent and sludge treatment plants all over the world. Today Aquaflow is also the Finnish market leader in pure water industry and nutrient removal in municipal waste water treatment.
