About Company

With 65 staff across 7 offices in Canada, we offer a broad range of environmental services that can be classified into environmental assessment and planning, operational environmental management, water resources science and management, and information management.

These services complement the traditional strengths of Associated Engineering, one of Canada’s most respected firms, in water, infrastructure, transportation, and environmental engineering. For more information on Associated Engineering, .

Supporting our Communities

We support our communities in various ways every day.  Summit provides sponsorship and volunteer assistance to community and environmental organizations such as Ducks Unlimited, the Bishop Wild Bird Foundation, The Vernon Family Resource Center and the Okanagan Science Centre. Summit staff contributed over 950 “in kind” hours in 2011 to 18 different organizations.  Summit staff also volunteer on the Boards of 12 professional and/or environmental associations  Memberships with these organizations enhance our corporate environmental and social impact by integrating knowledge and training within our office and within the communities where we live and work.

Supporting Future Environmental Professionals

Since the year 2000, Summit has continued to contribute, both financially and through volunteering, to the Okanagan Science Center.  Summit’s Vice-President and General Manager, Brian Guy, was an active member of the board for 7 years.  The Okanagan Science Center’s objective is to inspire scientific inquiry through dynamic and interactive educational programs and exhibits.  In 2011-2012, our Vernon office continued to build our relationship with the academic community, by agreeing to sponsor a graduate student, an NSERC Industrial Postgraduate Scholarship recipient.

Continued Wellness Commitment

Social responsibility is a recurrent theme of Summit’s staff Wellness Committee, an initiative established across Summit and its parent company, Associated Engineering. In this context, social responsibility includes both corporate charity work and individual giving back. Staff are encouraged to take on one or more specific activities, such as sponsorship, promotion or volunteering. For example, December of last year Summit staff contributed over $2,200 and 70 person hours towards a Christmas wreath campaign for the Kelowna branch “Inn from the Cold”, an organization that provides emergency overnight shelter and support services for the homeless.  Other typical activities include food bank drives; blood donation drives; sponsorship of a little league team; leaf raking to help seniors; signing organ donation cards; United Way initiatives or many of the other ‘giving back’ activities that lead to the betterment of society and the well-being of Summit’s staff.

Encouraging Healthy and Active Communities.

We proactively support employee and family health and well-being within the communities that we live and work. Our Wellness and Social Clubs organize social outings that encourage active and happy employees while at the same time, supporting local businesses. Regular social activities include an annual golf tournament, an annual Corporate Challenge event, and sports such as running, mountain biking, and skiing.
