Williams Announced Ambitious Plan to Expand Natural Gas Infrastructure

The Louisiana Energy Gateway pipeline is currently under construction and is expected to start service in H2 2025.

SEATTLE (Oil Monster): The Williams Companies, Inc. (WMB) announced plans to expand its natural gas infrastructure with the addition of as many as 12 new projects. These projects are estimated to represent approximately 4.2 billion cubic feet per day (bcfd) of capacity from 2024 to 2027. The announcement came during the recently held Barclays CEO Energy-Power Conference.

The business intends to concentrate on large-scale initiatives like the Southeast Supply Enhancement and Louisiana Energy Gateway pipelines, which will guarantee a substantial increase in the supply of natural gas entering the American market.

The Louisiana Energy Gateway pipeline is currently under construction and is expected to start service in H2 2025. The pipeline is estimated to deliver 1.8 bcfd of natural gas. Meanwhile, the Southeast Supply Enhancement pipeline is expected to deliver 1.6 bcfd of natural gas. The pipeline will become operational by Q4 2027.

During the period from 2018 to 2023, Williams brought 17 projects online, adding a total capacity of 5 bcfd. The company plans to invest approximately $10.2 billion to add approximately 11.5 bcfd of capacity between 2026 and 2032, helping the country meet its rising energy needs.
