TotalEnergies Partnered with Companies to Establish e-Natural Gas Coalition
SEATTLE (Oil Monster): TotalEnergies has partnered with seven companies to establish an e-natural gas (e-NG) coalition. The other members of the new coalition are Engie, Mitsubishi Corporation, Osaka Gas, Sempra Infrastructure, Toho Gas, Tokyo Gas and Tree Energy Solutions (TES).
The international coalition is aimed at boosting the production and utilisation of e-NG-a synthetic gas generated by combining renewable hydrogen and recycled carbon dioxide by way of methanation. The coalition partners will combine their expertise in promoting the use of e-NG and advancing the development of e-NG in a reliable, affordable and sustainable manner.
Presently, TotalEnergies, in partnership with TES, develops the Live Oak e-NG project, which is expected to produce 100,000-200,000 tonnes of e-NG per year by 2030. Also, the company had recently reached an agreement to acquire leading U.S. carbon capture and storage company, Talos Low Carbon Solutions. The deal gives TotalEnergies a 25% stake in the Bayou Bend project, located in proximity to its Port Arthur refinery as well as its petrochemicals assets in La Porte.
